About us

The Dyke Neuk Inn, located in the little village of Meldon near Morpeth, is a stone built bed and breakfast offering fantastic views of Northumberland. With the nearby Bolam Lake and Wallington Hall attracting visitors from all over the country, the Dyke Neuk Inn is used to catering for all types of guests. We also allow self sufficient motorhomes/tourers to park up in the carpark, all we ask is they dine in the pub for a meal whilst they stay. Dogs are also welcome in the bar, plenty treats available!

Inside the décor is of a quality feel, with slate floors and stone walls in the restaurant. Upstairs, the 4 star B&B has recently been refurbished. The 4 en-suite rooms are all very comfortable. There is a small outside eating area for Al Fresco dining, which is a lovely place to sit and gaze into the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. The bar provides home cooked traditional dishes. The bar is well stocked and carries two real ales from local breweries, which are changed regularly. We also have a pool table in the bar and a TV near the fireplace. There is also a games area, which plays host to quiz nights, special offer nights and the monthly live music.

Good pub. Amazing food! Tad cold. But it's definitely worth a visit. Took wet dog in. Managed to hose him down before we went in. Which was handy as we had been on a walk. Had a lovely time. Will return. Thank you.

Lovely pub tucked out of the way in a stunning location. Staff were very friendly and efficient and beer was good and of a far price. £8.10 for 2 pints. Down side was the food, unfortunately the food let this place down, it was all edible but could and should of been so much better.

Super country pub with accommodation. Stayed here for 2 nights and we loved it! Excellent hosts, nice comfortable, clean rooms, excellent food (beautiful gammon steak) and a fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended by us! We will be returning!!

Absolutely lovely meal. Went for a family day out, food was lovely, great veggie options, reasonable priced. It was a freezing cold day the welcome from the staff was as warm as the welcome coal fires. Defiantly be back for more food.

Fabulous food in a wonderful setting. Visited for lunch and the food is excellent quality and served in a very appealing way. We opted for the special lunch menu. Three courses for £12.50. Fantastic value for money. Worth the effort to visit as it is off the beaten track. Bonus points for being dog friendly.

Food & drink

You can take in the views of the Northumbrian countryside from either the bar or the restaurant area. I'm sure you will agree it is so pleasurable to sit, relax and enjoy.

As well as traditional British food with a changing menu to reflect local seasonal produce, the restaurant specialises in Traditional country food. We also cater for special occasions - birthdays, christenings, funeral wakes, weddings, meetings or if you just fancy a party!

The bar is well stocked and carries two real ales from local breweries. We try and change these regularly.
